Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Project

On our 2nd Day at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery Project, HD News' Jade Kurian and Nigel McGregor came out to interview and photograph Dan Fauver and our volunteers. Wow! How about that: National Media Coverage? This just lets us know that what we are doing is a good thing.

Ms. Deborah Franklin informed our volunteers: " The first person buried in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery was Cassie, the 15 year old daughter of Rev. A.N. Keen, on of the first Methodist ministers in this  part of Texas. The body of the preacher's daughter was laid to rest beneath a grove of wide shade trees in 1878. For years, Pleasant Ridge Cemetery was the burial place for Texans for miles around in this little Rose Hill community because there was no charge made for plots within this cemetery.

More information to come.
